Witnium AB was incorporated in Stockholm in 2023 — but the cryptographic primitive behind it has been developed by our founders since 2016 and running in production since 2018. The same primitive that holds up in a courtroom now underwrites AI accountability, financial trails, healthcare records, supply-chain provenance and any other claim that needs to be provable years after the fact.
Witnium AB is a Stockholm company incorporated in 2023 to commercialise a decade of cryptographic R&D. Our founders began developing the underlying Digital Witness primitive in 2016, took it into production in 2018 with European law firms handling real legal evidence, and spun out Witnium as the dedicated vehicle to bring that infrastructure to the wider market.
Our technology was never built for one regulation. It was built for a much older problem: how do you prove, years later, that a digital event happened exactly the way someone claims it did. That question doesn't belong to AI. It belongs to courts, auditors, regulators, insurers, journalists, scientists and anyone whose work has to survive scrutiny.
The EU AI Act made the question urgent for one industry. But the same primitive underwrites financial audit trails, clinical records, supply-chain provenance, public-sector decisions, IP & authorship, and the integrity of evidence itself. Witniumchain is the layer those proofs sit on — and we serve any platform, in any sector, that needs to hand a regulator, a court, or a customer a claim they can verify without trusting us.
